However, last night had some extra flavor, as the mid-term elections lasted well into the early morning, but the payoff was a higher futures market that led to a great night’s sleep.

They say it is always darkest before dawn, and the turnaround overnight was slightly bullish.

Following Wednesday’s biggest advance of the year, a pullback in the market was to be expected, but the bulls need to hold the first levels of support to avoid further weakness.

The rally started shortly after the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) minutes were released, and the dovish tone and global concerns were a surprise. The economy added 248,000 jobs, and the unemployment rate dropped below 6% for the first time since 2008. August’s dismal numbers were revised to 180,000 from 142,000.
